Grants

  •  Is there a particular format for the budget and budget justification documents?
    • No, EFF accepts the budgets in various formats. We do ask that budgets are itemized and account for all costs associated with the grant being submitted.
  • I received a grant in 2016, should I plan on being at the 2017 Forum?
    • Not just yet! All 2016 grant awardees will be asked to attend in 2018. This is to ensure that you have had enough time to complete or be near completion of your research to have data to share! Also, this forum is diabetes, obesity, and metabolism focused. If your grant is in another category we will have you present at another meeting.

Forum on Metabolic Bone Disease

  • I am a PhD student, can I apply?
    • Absolutely! This is our most diverse program in that it typically yields 50% PhD students and 50% MD students. We also routinely have almost as many international attendees as US based!

Preceptorship on Metabolic Bone Diseases

  • Is the program open to Pediatric Fellows?
    • Absolutely! All of EFF's programs are open to pediatric fellows. While the focus tends to lean towards adult treatments there are typically pediatric fellows and presenters attending

Preceptorship in Endocrine Aspects of Neoplasia, Diabetes & Obesity

  • Can I apply on a visa?
    • Unfortunately EFF cannot accept fellows from outside of the U.S. for this program. NIH has strict guidelines and it takes over six months for clearance to enter the facility, creating a barrier in accepting fellows in the U.S on visas.

Research Forum

  • I received a grant in 2016, should I plan on being at the 2017 Forum?
    • Not just yet! All 2016 grant awardees will be asked to attend in 2018. This is to ensure that you have had enough time to complete or be near completion of your research to have data to share! Also, this forum is diabetes, obesity, and metabolism focused. If your grant is in another category we will have you present at another meeting.
  • What if I will be out of my fellowship by that time?
    • We still want to see you! EFF is working to bridge the gap from fellowship to young investigators and provide opportunity for you in this "transition" time.

    General Questions

    • I applied for a program/grant, will I hear regardless of acceptance?
      • Yes! EFF notifies all fellows of status. If you send in an application, you will hear from us!
    • I am interested in (XXX) program, can I apply?
